Elisabetta Cecconi is Assistant Professor of English Language at the University of Florence. Her main research interests focus on 17th and 18th century English news discourse (news broadside ballads, pamphlets, periodicals) and on Early Modern English courtroom discourse. She has published several articles on English Civil War news and propaganda discourse and she is the author of The Language of Defendants in the 17th-Century English Courtroom (2011).
