Gabriella Del Lungo Camiciotti is a retired Professor of English language and linguistics at the Department of Linguistics of the University of Florence, Italy. Her main current research interest focuses on the pragmatic and discursive analysis of both narrative and academic/professional texts from a historical perspective ranging from the late Middle Ages to the nineteenth century. She has published many studies dealing with the history of the English language and the stylistic aspects of late Middle English texts with special reference to women mystic discourse and saints’ lives. She has published articles and co-edited volumes on corpus-based studies of varieties of specialized discourse, with special focus on the discourse of economics. She is currently researching letter writing in the history of English.
