Laura Gavioli teaches English language and translation at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. Her research work includes the study of spoken language, mainly in institutional settings, in English and Italian, corpus studies and linguistic contrastive analysis (English vs. Italian) in intercultural or multicultural settings. She is currently involved in the study of interpreter-mediated interactions in conversations involving speakers (not necessarily native-speakers) of English and Italian and has lately coordinated projects on the analysis of translation and mediation in dialogue interaction.
