Marc Seth Silver is Full Professor of English at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. His research interests focus on the interrelation between language and culture, with particular interest in language and culture of the United States, on argumentation as it manifests itself in discourse across academic disciplines and on the relationship between forms and strategies of argumentation and epistemology.
He has also written extensively on EAP (English for Academic Purposes), translation theory, the application of psychoanalytic theories to dialogue analysis, corpus linguistics, and discourse analysis.
