Michela Canepari is Associate Professor of English Linguistics and Translation at the University of Parma (Italy). She is member of the Editorial Board of Torre di Babele – Rivista di letteratura e linguistica. Her research interests cover text-linguistics, genre analysis, discourse analysis and translation. Recently, her research has focused on specialized languages and their popularization, resulting in the publication of the volumes Viaggio intersemiotico nel linguaggio della scienza vol. 1 (2013) and vol. 2 (in print), as well as various articles. She has also published on new methodologies in teaching English for Special Purposes at University level and, as the referent of the career counselling services offered by the Unit of Foreign Languages, she organizes seminars and conferences at various high schools in both Parma and Piacenza focused on the teaching and learning of scientific English.
