Stefania Consonni is Associate Professor in English language and linguistics at the University of Bergamo. Her publications focus on textual paradigms, narratology, the semiotics of visual vs. verbal language, specialized communication in a discourse-analytical perspective, and the semiotic and pragmatic features of traditional and new genres within academic and specialized/professional discourse. She is a member of CERLIS and has been involved in inter-academic Research Projects, funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, on social and cultural studies and on specialized language and discourse.
