Christina Samson is Associate Professor of English Language and Linguistics at the University of Florence. Her research focuses on historical ego documents and the press, with particular reference to the interactional, persuasive and identity construal features of language. She is the co-founder of the Multilingual Lexis of Cultural Heritage Departmental Research Group, Editor-in-Chief of the Multilingual Lexis of Cultural Heritage Series (FUP) and Guest Editor of Token. A Journal of English Linguistics. She is the compiler of several corpora and has recently founded the Departmental Research Unit Corpora and Historical English Research (CHER) with the purpose of building corpora of different historical periods and analyse them synchronically and diachronically using mixed methodologies to research different genres and language evolution related to culture, religion, politics, news, education, within a historical, socio-contextual, temporal dimension.
