Federica Scarpa is full professor of English Language and Translation at the SSLMIT, University of Trieste.
- 2007 – 2011: Director of the Department of Language, Interpreting and Translation Studies.
- 2009 – : Coordinator of the Ph.D. programme in Interpreting and Translation Studies.
- From 2009: Representative of the SSLMIT in the European Master’s in Translation (EMT) network.
- 2009 – 2011: Scientific coordinator of the research project “Construction of a multilingual terminology database (IT, EN, DE, SLO, HR) in transport” (Fondo Trieste – Commissariato del Governo nella Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia).
- 2009 – 2012: Main contact person of the SSLMIT in the Lifelong Learning Programme European project OPTIMALE (Optimising Professional Translator Training in a Multilingual Europe).
- From 2012: Coordinator of the Master in Legal Translation.
- 2011-2014: Scientific coordinator of the research project “Translation in English of the Italian Code of Criminal Procedure” (Funded by the University of Trieste and the Trieste Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio.
Main Research Interests
Specialised Translation (Social sciences, Law, Information Technology), ESP, Corpora-based Translation Studies, Terminology and Professional translator training.
