Francesca Bianchi holds a Degree in Translation (University of Trieste, IT), and a Ph.D. in Linguistics (Lancaster University, UK). Researcher and lecturer of English at the University of Salento (Lecce, IT), Department of Humanities, she currently teaches audiovisual translation, and interpreting. In 2013, she co-founded the Unisalento Summer School of Audiovisual Translation (https://avtsummerschool.unisalento.it/home_page), of which she is coordinator. She is also journal manager of international journal Lingue e Linguaggi (http://siba-ese.unisalento.it/index.php/linguelinguaggi/index). Her research areas include subtitling, corpus linguistics, and technologies in language learning. She has organized international conferences and seminars in applied linguistics and audiovisual translation, in and outside Lecce. She has published several papers and edited books in the area of applied linguistics.
