Marcella Bertuccelli is Full Professor of English Language and Linguistics at the University of Pisa where she was Director of the post-graduate degree Course (Laurea Magistrale) in Literary Translation from 2003 to 2009, Head of the PhD School in “Linguistics and Oriental Studies” from 2009 to 2010 and Director of the Language Centre from 2009 to 2016. She has published extensively in pragmatics and discourse analysis. On implicitness phenomena she has published a monograph (Implicitness in text and discourse, Pisa, ETS 2000) and several papers. Her recent research interests focus on the study of semantic and pragmatic meanings and their neurocognitive representations, and include lexicology, figurative language (Literally false, in prep.) and translation (Prima di tradurre, Pisa, PLUS, 2016).
